Cupcakes are little delicious bundles of love and happiness. You can buy or make cupcakes in many shapes, sizes, and flavors. My favorite cupcake is a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting mmmm good :) To make my favorite kind of cupcake, a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting this is the recipe. Step 1, Gather the ingredients needed including 1 1/3 cups of all-purpose flour, ¼ teaspoon of baking soda, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, ¾ cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, 1/8 teaspoon of salt, 3 tablespoons of butter(softened), 1 ½ cups of white sugar, 2 eggs, ¾ tablespoon of vanilla extract, and 1 cup of milk. Step 2, Preheat an oven to 350°F (175°C) Step 3, Line a muffin/cupcake pan with paper or foil cups. Step 4, Sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt into a bowl and set to the side for later. Step 5, In a large bowl cream together the butter and the sugar until it is light and fluffy. Step 6, Add the eggs one at a time beating well in between each added egg. Step 7, Stir in the vanilla thoroughly. Step 8, Add the flour mixture into the larger bowl while alternating pouring the milk in at the same time. Step 9, Make sure there are no lumps in this mixture then fill the paper/foil cups about ¾ of the way. Step 10, Put the pan of cupcakes in the oven for about 15-17 minuets or until you can stick a toothpick in the middle and it comes out completely clean. While the cupcakes are baking you can make the chocolate butter-cream frosting. Step 1, First you will need to gather the ingredients to make chocolate butter-cream icing/frosting these ingredients include, ½ cup of solid vegtable shortening, ½ cup(1 stick) of butter(softened), ¾ cup of cocoa powder, 1 teaspoon of clear vanilla extract, 4 cups(approximately 1lb.) of sifted confectioners’ sugar, 3-4 tablespoons of milk, and 3-4 tablespoons of water. Step 2, In a large bowl mix together shortening and butter very thorough. Step 3, Add cocoa powder and butter and gradually add the sugar one cup at a time(scrape bottom and sides of the bowl to make sure all ingredients are thoroughly mixed together). Step 4, once all of the sugar is mixed in the icing/frosting will appear dry, add milk and water and mix until the icing is light and fluffy. At this time the cupcakes should be done if not this is your time to sit back and relax for a moment or two. Once your cupcakes are done you will want to take the pan out of the oven and remove the cupcakes so they can cool for about 3-5 minuets. Once they are done cooling you will want to use your homemade chocolate butter-cream icing/frosting
to decorate your cupcakes you can either just slather it on with a butter knife of you can do it the “fancy” way by piping it on with a piping bag. To pipe it on you will want to buy piping bags if this is your first time doing this I recommend buying the cheaper plastic ones. Once you have these bags you will want to find the end on the opposite end from the end with the opening and cut about and inch off with scissors. Then fold the top end halfway over the other end and fill it up with your butter-cream icing/frosting then fold the top part of the bag back up and twist it from the top. At this time just squeeze the bag from the top, twisted part. Start in the middle and work your way outwards in a spiraling motion once to the edge of the cupcake do the same motion but move upwards until you come to a lovely little peak at the tip-top. If you may have any on hand for a little decoration piece you can add one little chocolate chip on the peak of the icing/frosting just for presentation purposes. This is what your cupcake should look like without a chocolate chip when
done, if not that’s okay all that matters is that it tastes good anyways, right? This cupcake is great for parties or fun events. So next time you need a tasty treat try making this cupcake, you can always just make both recipes just with out the cocoa powder it will taste the same but it will look different. This was the recipe for my favorite cupcake so if this cupcake looks good trying making it sometime!
